Our speaker on this Modality of Therapy is Ms. Zaheera Seedat, an Educational
Psychologist, in private practice who is passionate about working with children, and has
an interest in psychological assessments and early childhood development. She also
works at an NGO called Johannesburg Parent and Child Counselling Centre.

Aims of the Module:

● To understand what Play Therapy is and how it is used in the treatment of children
● To understand the difference between the directive and non-directive approach in Play Therapy.
● To understand how to create a therapeutic safe space for a child to work in Play Therapy.
● To understand when a referral to Play Therapy is indicated.

The assessment of the understanding of the module is followed by a questionnaire (10
items) and short survey.
