About Chevon Cawood
I didn’t know what exactly I what wanted to study when I left school. I considered medicine but felt like that would demand more time than I was willing to give should I start my own family.
I chose to study social work and then did part time studies in psychology. After completing my social work degree, I was 21 and realized I did not want to do this full time. Not knowing quite where to turn, for the next 6 six years I gained experience in various jobs from working on cruise liners and managing offices, to renting out X- ray machines to orthodontists.
I applied for my honors in research psychology, completed this in 2010 and thereafter completed my masters in research psychology and the year after a masters in clinical psychology.
So 14 years after beginning my career in psychology, I was finally ready to begin working in the industry.
I did my internship at Sterkfontein Psychiatric Hospital and community service at Helen Joseph Hospital.
In 2016 I started my private practice with a friend in Northriding. I was blessed with being very busy, very quickly.
In September 2018 I moved my practice to The Ridge Wellness Center in Randpark Ridge.
What is the current setup of your practice?
I rent a therapy room at The Ridge Wellness Center in Randpark Ridge.
What attracted you to the IsoForge product?
Oliver contacted me on LinkedIn and I signed up for smeMetrics and then moved over to IsoForge. It made sense to me because it seemed like it would save me time and money.
What are your current experiences with IsoForge?
It is good to connect with people who know the answers. When I have questions, there are no delays getting answers. I’m never left hanging.
What do you like most about IsoForge?
I’m saving about 2 hours a week on administration.
I like that there’s a personal touch. You don’t just feel like you’re a number. I feel like, as far as possible, my individual needs as a practitioner get met.
Oliver and his team are always willing to negotiate and I feel where the demand is high enough, Oliver is willing to consider my requests and make changes to improve the system.
Where do you feel IsoForge Falls Short for you at the moment?
Sometimes it goes through phases where I feel like the company grows and there is too much work for the team. I felt like some things were falling through the cracks, although never anything that has affected my bottom line. Having said that, if I communicate any issues I have with the team, it gets sorted out.
When the product was sold to me, it was sold also having marketing, website and debt collecting legs. Those things have not really come to fruition for me. So I’m looking forward to seeing more of that input in the future
Why don’t you rather hire a secretary or PA to assist with your admin?
My main reason and motivation would be cost. There is no way I can afford someone that works at the effectiveness and professional level that IsoForge does for the amount of money I pay
Did you look at any other business practice management solutions? Why didn’t you go with them
I was using Excel. I had a couple of people suggest different systems, but I never really tried them out. None of the systems seemed to make sense. To be honest, with the other systems it would also have involved me having to manually transfer all my client data. With smeMetrics and IsoForge, this was done automatically in the system through a data upload.
